This singular building provides a very direct illustration of the specific urban condition of this coastal town (see KM 1900). The streets which follow the topography delineate blocks in strips composed of a string of buildings which differ in height by four or five floors from one to the next. This bicephalous building, reminiscent of a tiered cake, combines a lower core building of four floors with a more commonplace upper core building of five floors. The roof of the lower building constitutes an extension of the footpath of the upper street and forms a belvedere over the landscape beneath. Access points to the upper and lower levels are grouped at the level of this belvedere, while the garages occupy the lower level.
