Jetty cabins

Described by Pasolini in “The Long Road of Sand”, a coastal voyage similar to our own exploration, the cabins of Santa Marinella are arranged in two groups of around forty cabins. Each cabin has a private entrance from the road, a storage area and a partially shaded jetty giving access to the sea. Beyond its picturesque appeal, this type of construction offers the advantage of establishing a direct link between two generally distant usages, circulation and idleness ; a dense and effective use of a potentially negative location, here used to the advantage of the site and for unexpected usages.
