NOM | TROPICANA |
PAYS | Grèce |
VILLE | PANTELEIMOMAS |
PROGRAMME | Restauration / Habitat individuel |
THEMES | Exotique / Structure ouverte |
As is often the case in Greece, the Tropicana is a partially occupied structure. Cylindrical in order to take full advantage of the panoramic view of the Aegean Sea, it is arranged over four levels, two located below street level and two above. A restaurant occupies the ground-floor level, with the two lower floors containing dwellings. The top floor, as yet unoccupied, is covered by a thin hemispherical concrete shell, supported by a radial frame of porticos worthy of Hennebique.
