Chameleon restaurant

This restaurant is located next to the beach, in the centre of a small town nestling in a protected bay. The building is broken down into two units. A brick-built structure, sitting on the footpath, houses the kitchens and the entrance ; it is topped by a sign and various ventilation systems, the whole thing wrapped in climbing plants. The second half of the building, exceptionally slender, is positioned on the sand, its roof resembling a wide straw hat, its entirely glazed facade framing the horizon. All the restaurants lining this beach reuse the same typology, the nature of the core buildings repeating literally their straddling position, and the heterogeneous nature of the ground, like a chameleon on a piece of tartan fabric.
