This operation benefits from an open site, located on the north bank of the Île de Nantes, facing the Madeleine arm of the Loire. Although situated within immediate proximity of the very centre, this district is characterised by the presence of vast unused spaces and by a complex road network. Our project is composed of a base occupying almost all of the constructible footprint and a hexagonal tower whose height corresponds to the neighbouring development.
The position of this parcel and the urban form we propose to build on it provide exceptional domestic qualities : absence of overlooking, distant views, and the presence of the Loire. All dwellings enjoy very large external spaces oriented to the south, west or east. All rooms benefit from tall bay windows.
urbanity / materiality
Our project proposes a particularly legible geometry, unified by a sequential treatment of the facades, punctured by the presence of vertical support structures in white concrete, becoming thinner towards the top of the building. The surface of the facades between piers is divided between window basements of white ceramic tiles and anodised aluminium window
