COLLECTIVE HOUSING UNITS - REBIERE

Within the framework of the Porte Pouchet development project, a plot was created alongside Batignolles cemetery by reducing the width of rue Rebière. This lot is divided into seven units of 55 x 12.6 m, each containing 20 dwellings.

The layout of our buildings responds to the highly varied overlooking conditions on the street front and enables different orientations for the dwellings. The open spaces between the buildings provide transparency between the street and the cemetery landscape, which constitutes one of the site’s key landscape qualities.

The dwellings all enjoy two or even three orientations and an external space situated as an extension of the main rooms. The first building benefits from a recess in the built frontage to open widely to the south, while the other overcomes significant overlooking by favouring east/west orientations.

The structural system combining posts and flat slabs permits optimal envelope thickness, while also ensuring highly effective insulation of the facades, designed as light facades. This framework system also allows for good flexibility of the building over the long term.
The facades are covered in corrugated aluminium cladding deployed in storey-height bands, the ground-floor level being distinguished by perforated cladding. The balcony railings in corrugated polycarbonate provide a certain luminous transparency, while also preserving the privacy of the dwellings.
